Hail Artemisia! Once again, the Dreaded Demon Decapod has been sighted, arising in turpitude from its scrofulous and murky depths.

Gather, O mighty populace, and let us face this perilous peril with armor and with steel, with our arts and with our hearts. A Heavy Weapons Tournament, a Rapier Tournament, and an Arts and Sciences Competition will be taking place.

All may vie for the titles of Defenders of the Loch, and one will win for their fair inspiration the honor of being Shrimp Bait!

Site opens: 9:00 a.m.

Site closes: 8:00 p.m.

7486 Union Park Ave, Midvale, UT 84047

Directions:

- Take your best route along I-15 to the 7200 S exit and go east on 7200 S.

- Follow 7200 S. eastbound, and turn right (south) on 1300 E.

- Turn left (it’s still south, the road curved) onto Union Park Ave.

- Go straight through ONE traffic light (South Union Avenue).

- Turn right at the next light (7485 S.)

- 7485 S ends in the parking lot of St. James Episcopal Church.

- Turn right into the parking lot, go around the corner, and

- Park on the west side of the building for best access to the entrance.

Site specifics:

The site is DRY; no pets, only service animals allowed, No smoking in the building or within 30ft. of doors.

Minor Registration: Minors will be guests of the Barony

Feast information:

Feast will be a potluck lunch to fuel the fight against the Demon Decapod.

Outlets are limited; crock pots are welcome—alternately, consider a cold dish or a side item.

Baronial Arts and Sciences Champion and Arts and Sciences Defender

GREETINGS GOOD POPULACE!

Unto all those who would Defend the Loch from the Demon Decapod with thy skillful arts and clever sciences, the time approaches to gather for the Defender’s Tournament. All those who wish to may step forth to test there creative mettle against one another to find who will be declared the Baronial Champion and who will be the Defender. The theme with which to defeat the Terrible Crustacean shall be “Ermine.” 

(interpret that in whatever way you wish, but be prepared to defend that interpretation to any who ask)

The tasks for these two different titles are as follows:

Defender - a display-only to be based on the Ermine theme, but not subject to judging scores. The Populace will be given the chance to choose their favorites amongst the displays (via the ‘beans in cup’ method) but ultimately it shall be Her Excellency Baroness Germaine Jambert l’Innocente who chooses the newest Defender of Arts and Sciences.

Champion - an entry of three items based on the Ermine theme shall be required. These entries WILL be judged, and the winner decided upon the outcome of accumulated scores. 

It is with great anticipation that the Barony of Loch Salann awaits all who would throw the mighty work of their hands against the Demon Decapod in order to defend our shores and populace.
