The Rapier Fighters held a donation Soup Kitchen to raise funds to help other groups within our Kingdom purchase loaner gear for rapier practices. There was a great variety of soups, breads and other yummy items provided for our lunch. In the end it was reported that they raised over $400. There were also donations of a rapier from Baron Robert the Lost and a fencing mask. Vivat! |

The Arts & Sciences Competition had several entries and many were judged as quite remarkable. Abigail du Crauford is our new Youth Arts Champion. Her documentation on the Robin Hood hat was greatly enjoyed. The People's Choice Award was tied between two different items, both made by HL Broka Vais. They were the dice he made and the wooden chest. HL Ashe'el Terestini entered several wonderful pieces of embroidery. HE Leah de Spencer won the Arts Championship with her displays of the crossbow, the coronets and the honey mead that she made. A thank you to all the entrants for participating in the competition. |

The fighting was fierce in the tournaments. There were many crashings and bangings and toings and froings. In the end, the Defender who stood above the rest was Sir Bohun the Black with Lady Hawke Rivenoak as his Lady Shrimp Bait. In the fencing tournament the champion was Don Elyas Tigar and his Lady Valentina la Marcheande became the Lady Shrimp Bait. |
Late afternoon Court came about as we all retired from the fields of battle. Lady Oonaugh inghean Glaisne received a White Duck from Their Excellencies, Bjorn and Jennet for her long service to the Barony. The announcement was made that Lord Lawrence Bacon will be the new Rapier Marshall and m'lady Winifred Whitehorse is the new Chronicler for the Barony. The awards and regalia for all the champions were distributed to those listed above. When it was time for Their Majesties Court, they awarded Cliodhna Ui Fearadhaigh with an Award of Arms. At the end of Court everyone was dismissed to prepare for the Feast and hopefully, for some dancing. |

Unfortunately, I needed to leave to rescue my poor dogs from being overfed at the sitter's, so I have no information about how the feast tasted or what happened during the Bardic competition. I hope someone who was there will send me some kind paragraphs to add here. Lines above borrowed from Lewis Carroll, The Jabberwocky |

A special thank you to Sir Robert de Spencer for his drawing of the Great Brine Shrimp--which we know came from his personal experience with the Great Beaste. |
