Arts and Sciences Night will be moving to the park during Fighter Practice on Wednesday nights beginning June 4th.
Summer is finally here! Instead of our monthly A & S Night, we are now holding A & S Circles during Fighter Practice at Sugar House Park. This summer I would like to focus on making largesse items, so we will have some informal classes and demonstrations on various projects and the techniques to make them. Other classes and demonstrations will be held on topics that you would like to learn about or that you would like to teach - please let me know what subjects are of interest and I will try to get them scheduled. I have had a request for classes on lucet and finger-loop braiding, so if you would like to volunteer to share your knowledge of either of those two techniques, please contact me and we will pick a date and get the word out. If we do not have a class or demonstration scheduled for a particular week, please join us and bring along whatever project you are currently working on, to share with other interested artisans. Watch the Loch Salann e-mail list for more information!
Other A&S activities of general interest:
His Lordship Morgan Blaidd Du is offering to teach arrow fletching and bow making to any interested gentle. Please contact him directly, for more information.
The Cook's Guild meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Please contact Mistress Casamira for details.
The Needleworker's Guild will be meeting at fighter practice on Wednesday nights. Please contact Lady Aurora for more information.
If there are any other guilds or A & S groups out there holding meetings or having activities, please let me know so I can get the word out. As always, if there are any ideas you have, talents you would like to share, or guilds or programs you would like to start, I would love to hear from you.
On July 19th, at the Tournament of Chivalry, we will be holding a banner competition. A prize basket will be awarded to the winning individual or group based on populace choice.
